Projects 2009 - 2010

Community Sports Coach £5000 - Continuing with the good work already completed by our Sports Coach John Bennett, this funding payed for him to deliver services up to March 2010.  John has also agreed to continue to work in Cotmanhany and will be providing events and activities over the holidays.

Neighbourhood Warden £7500 - Our Neighbourhood Ranger, Andy Savage was fortunate to be mainstreamed into Erewash Borough Council in November 2009.  CNMG part funded his salary to ensure that he remained dedicated to Cotmanhay.  EBC have confirmed that after March 2010, Andy will still be the Cotmanhay Neighbourhood Warden on a permanent basis.

Young Persons Activities £5000 - Due to an underspend last year, £5000 was transfered into this year's budget to keep youth activities going for all ages of children in Cotmanhay.  Keep a look out for information on what is happening during the holidays, EBC, Groundwork and the Youth Service will all be providing activities.

Service Information Booklet £1350 - This project was to design, produce, deliver and evaluate a local Service Information Booklet which would hold all the local information you may need in one handy sized place.  The booklet delivered to all the properties in Cotmanhay contained information from the Police, Fire Brigade, Three Valleys Housing as well as all the voluntary organisations in the local area.  If this project is deemed a success, it will be mainstreamed to cover the whole of Erewash, with Cotmnahay being given the accolade of piloting the scheme.

Breakfast Club £280 - The Breakfast Club at Cotmanhay Junior School is vital to ensure that all the children get a healthy and balanced breakfast to start their day.  Following on from previous funding, this money buys the food for the children for a term on the school year.

Brave It £3000 - Brave it is a project like no other, run in conjunction with CCE and BBEC it is aimed at school age children, educating them in behaviours, anger management, and abuse.  It aims to stop domestic violence by providing necessary training and information to ensure that everyone is able to keep control of their feelings, anger and can talk if necessary.

Youth Activities £4000 - Groundwork Derby & Derbyshire will be using this money to provide Youth Activities in Cotmanhay including Woodwork, Construction and Gardening to name but a few.

Community Chest £9116.75 - This Community Chest funded 15 projects of varying amounts to complete very different things.  These included a new cooker for Cooking on a Budget, Storage for the Scout Group, The set up of a new business and a number of other groups.

Training Fund £8897.28 - Continuing with the success of the last Trainnig Fund, this project helped 47 individuals undertake a training course of their choice up to the value of £500.  The courses included, Nail Art, Childcare, Teacher Training, HGV Driving, FLT Licences and CSCS Cards.
