Capacity Building

The key to the success of our project is ensuring that residents are skilled and confident enough to take the reigns when our management team funding ends.

As a way of trying to guarantee this we offer all residents who work with the board the opportunity to access training.

So far we have provided training at Trafford Hall, the National Tenants’ Resource Centre near Chester, on how the Neighbourhood Element works and how to consult effectively with the community.

Training was also offered on how to run a community café, developing team building skills and Project Management.

Residents have also received presentations from local and national experts in regeneration projects and service provision.

Along with training for those who have volunteered with the project, we also provide funding to the Enterprise Centre, giving residents access to good quality adult educational facilities locally.

We have approved funding to help parents and carers with the cobras become qualified FA Coaches.

By supporting the “Backing Winners” programme run by the Erewash Partnership, we are helping to give local people the chance to become self employed by starting their own business.

We hope to be able to continue offering access to training to all residents. Through which they will feel empowered to take an active role in making Cotmanhay a great place to be.
